Choosing a Hairstyle As Per Your Face

A new haircut requires examining quite a few things, before you change over to it. You have to consider the shape and size of the face, your head, type of hair, weight and height and above all, your lifestyle. Are you wondering, for a mere new haircut, do we require all these? Well… you will not regret it, if you consider all these.

Consider the Shape and Size of your face and head.

For a square face, you should soften the features by adopting soft layers beginning from just below the jaw-line. Sleek and long hairstyles suit square faces as well.

If you have a round face, begin the layers at the cheeks, and adopt sweeping, long bangs to accentuate less the roundness of the face. When you combine the layers and the long bangs, your face will appear a little longer.

All kinds of hairstyles will go well with a perfect oval face. This type of face welcomes long sweeping bangs as well as medium haircuts.

For a heart-shaped face, medium length haircut, which begins just below the jaw line, is the best. Bangs fringing towards facial ends can balance the narrower bottom of the face.

Weight & Height

Longer hair usually makes you look thinner, while shorter haircuts make you appear heavy. Again, longer the hair the shorter you will appear, and shorter the hair, you will appear tall. When you are short and thin, a shorter hairdo will do. For robust, tall people, longer hair will be better. As an experiment, you can try some wigs or use pins or clips, to see how different haircuts will appear on you.

Lifestyle

For busy, fast- paced people, a wash-and-wear haircut would suit. If you are leisurely, you can adopt haircuts, which may take time to styling.

Frizzy or wavy hair may not take in sleek and smooth haircuts. But then again, nowadays, salons do wonders on your hair. If your hair looks frizzy, you can ask the salon to give you a bob, like Victoria Beckham. Finally, all hair-cuts reflect your personality, and as such you have to choose the one that suits what you want to be in your life.

So as we have seen different hair style suits the different face shape and sizes. You should choose your hair style, keeping in mind the shape and size of your face. This will ensure that your hair style will suit you and complement your face shape.

Wedding Hairstyles – The Best Wedding Hairstyles That Are Fit For the Bride

If you are a bride to be and a bit confused on what hairstyle you should go for on your wedding day, then fret no more, I have here some lovely hairstyles from which you can choose.

If you want to go for a sweet and sophisticated look that is rolled into one, then the braided bun is for you. All you need to do is tuck and twist your do up. The braided bun is fit for a seaside party or a much fascinating ballroom affair.

The true romance hairstyle is a bit more of a wispier edition of the undone up do. This is a hairstyle that you can dress up or dress down with only a few tactical placing of hairpins.

The undone up do is a more creative handling with the up dos, and the style it accentuates is unquestionably less rigid. This hairstyle is not meant to be perfect; you can be flexible with this style and recreate it.

The couture curls hairstyle is a hairstyle that will require your hair volume to be maximized and arrange it in a half-up do and add some loose curls. If there are a few loose strands, you can clip them up with a profligate barrette that will give you a sultry style.

These days, the down do’s hairstyles are much hotter that ever, and that includes the swept-away style. This style has just loose enough curls that you sweep to the side and settle it there with a unique and exceptional barrette or comb.

The tease hairstyle will necessitate you to pump up the volume of your hair. Aside from pumping up the volume, you intentionally place some barrettes and a few more spritzes of hair spray, so that you can keep the curly coif away from your eyes.

The retro glamour is my favorite, this is a half-up headband style, but is indeed at the height of fashion very much trendy, a guaranteed classic. You need not worry if your hair texture is fine or maybe thick, it is suitable for anyone, but the length of your hair is the only thing that is necessary for this hairstyle.

Have you seen a center parted hairstyle? You may think it looks a bit severe. A side-parted hairstyle is a style that can flatter most of the various shaped faces. You can add up some chic chignon and play it with some jewels for a definite style that would not only be elegant and sophisticated, but also timeless.

If you want to look like a princess on your wedding day, and are thinking that wearing a crown is quite uncomfortable for you, then have your worries melt away because you do not need a crown. You can use some bobby pins and then stud up your sleek hairdo by putting on a few eye-catching crystal hair vines to have an out of the ordinary tiara effect.

I hope these hairstyles will help you with your wedding day preparations.

The Art of Hair Cutting

Hair cutting is an art of shaping the hair using implements. Both men and women have their different haircuts style depending on their culture, social status, as well as personal taste.

The most important component of cutting is the tool. Various tools like scissors, shears and razors are used for cutting. Each tool results a specific type of cut. A stunning hairstyle can change the look of the individual. It’s not only the tool that changes the look but also a trained mind and a perfect hand.

There are various hair-cutting techniques that vary depending on the hair types and the desired hair-styles. Wet cutting is the most popular cutting technique in the industry because wet hairs are easily manageable. The only disadvantage of wet cutting is that the look changes after drying. Dry cutting is a perfect technique for straight hairs. This determines the actual look of the hair cut. Another technique is wet into dry cutting. In this technique wetting is done followed by dry detailing. Dry detailing is most commonly referred as blow dry.

Today, razor cutting is also in fashion giving the highly textured look. Layer cutting is highly demand and it requires cutting of each layer at a time. This cutting requires an extremely trained hand for a stunning look. The blunt cutting technique is good for any style that requires cutting of one length. Clipper cutting technique is used for cutting men’s hair.

From time immemorial women have been into hairstyling and cutting but today even men are flaunting their hairstyles. Men today are seeped up with various styles like spikes, mullet cut, hair color, buzz cut, etc. Men need to search for a good stylist or a good barber because barbers and cutters know how to cut men’s hair. If they try cutting at home or by any unprofessional barber they may get a crappy cut.

Today, hair segment market is grooming in India and the market value has reached to Rs. 200 crore. Several Indian hair-dressers are going abroad to bring in new techniques and styles. They have an art in their hands to give a stunning and completely different look. Some of our Indian stylists have great demand across the border.

Ancient Greek Hairstyles

Since Greece was the oldest civilization, the Greeks were the trendsetters of a number of things, the ancient Greek hairstyles inclusive! In the simplest of terminology, hairstyle is a style in which an individual’s hair is cut and set. The hairstyles of Greeks were an indispensable part of their personalities, aptly reflecting the social, political and cultural history of the Greek period. These hairstyles were also a revelation of the customs, uniqueness and characteristic persona of the ancient Greeks.

Ever since the beginning of civilization, men and particularly women have been paying a lot of attention to the way their hair is done. Women obviously have been always more overprotective about their hair, because well-kept hair are a part of the concept of good looks, adornment and pleasant appearance. Even in the times as far back in history as the Greek civilization, people have paid attention to beauty and personal hygiene.

The most ancient of hairstyles were a result of the use of knives, hairpins and combs. As time passed, women started using hair additions and artistic wigs. In fact, ancient women were all considered more attractive if their hair were long as well as thick. It was believed that the length and thickness of hair lent it greater beauty and added on to a woman’s appearance.

The hairstyles of ancient Greeks were unique in more ways than one. The most popular hairstyle was the ‘Green Knot’. For this particular style, the ancient Greek women used to hold their hair together and formed a knot at the neck. Ever since those times, buns and knots have always been in fashion, with novel variations. Ancient Greeks also made use of saffron to lighten the color of their hair, so as to further enhance the style.

It was not that only Greek women had a fascination for hairstyles, the Greek men were not too far behind either; the most common hairstyle that most Greek men in ancient times sported was – short and curly. As newer fashion trends came up, these people added a variety of embellishments to their hairstyles. Most of these decorations were made of gold, silver and ivory.

During one of the ancient Greek periods, there is a record of the hair being short, chin-length as well as curly. With the advent of fashion and a consciousness towards looking fashionable, hairstyling trends started becoming increasingly imaginative. The hairstyles that gained popularity were those ornamented with ribbons, gold, precious stones and pearls.

There was also a period in Greek history, when the focus from the hairstyles went into hibernation. Even the use of wigs became less common. Later, however, with the advancement in technology an ever-increasing number of men and women started going to the hairdressers, in order to bring an absolutely new look to their personality, via the hairstyle route. The ‘comparatively modern’ of the ancient Greek hairstyles included ‘crimping’ – a style in which waves were produced in the hair, using a hot iron. Such a style was in vogue for a long time in ancient Greece. Even in the present times, crimping is the most chosen hairstyle for young girls, especially if they desire a unique look of Greek hairstyles!

10 Most Popular Hair Styles for 2006

In 2005 the most popular hair styles were driven by celebrities, most notably the women actresses on “Sex in the City” and “Friends” and you could go down about any city in America and see look a like hairstyles. Some younger gals were thinking that in 2006 they might wish to imitate Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, although we may see more of a 1970’s hybrid between these of Paris and Britney and a more layered look like back then. Men seemed to be quite content with the James Bond style, long hair let it go style and emulating the various GQ heart throbs of the Silver Screen in 2005.

In 2006 going bald will be the biggest trend, as those who have become enlightened will prove that they do not need to impress anyone with something as silly or ridiculous as a hair cut. For those who do not wish to show their enlightened self, we will see a re-emergence of the Ronald Reagan style hair cut for most men and a few will adopt the “I do not give a damn about you or anyone else” haircut style of shock jock Howard Sterns. For the women who are afraid to cut it all off we will see longer hair with a flared layered look. Not quite the Farah Facet haircut of the late 70’s but along that lines and this will be taking hold towards the end of 2006, mostly due to Hollywood’s influence on the masses. Think on this in 2006.

Hairstyles For Gray Hair Without Looking Old

You’ve decided that you’re going gray and staying that way. And maybe you think that you should look at hairstyles for gray hair. After all, a 40+ year old woman should not choose a hairstyle that a 20 year old would have, right? No, wrong!

And just because we get older does that necessarily mean there are less hairstyle choices that would be appropriate for a 40+ woman? No,of course not! You just don’t want to get carried away by wearing pig tails or side pony tails for instance.

Your age has very little to do with a hair style that would be right for you. In fact, there are lots of hairstyles that are classics and if you think about it, you’ve seen them yourself. Think Meryl Streep in “The Devil Wears Prada” and what about the infamous Peggy Lee with her “platinum” hair?

Think about other classic hairstyles worn by the famous. Princess Diana’s short full cut or Barbara Streisand’s chic, long bob. How about those not so famous, striking, sexy gray haired women that you know. They have a few things in common. They have done their homework and found a style that was flattering for their face, not their age. So, like any big decision that you make:

DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

1. If you don’t have a good hair stylist, you need to find one. No,not one who specializes in hairstyles for gray hair – just a good stylist. Be bold and ask a stranger; “who does your hair?” Who wouldn’t want to hear such a flattering question? And you get some good guidance. Win, Win!

2. On your first visit to the stylist don’t get shampooed right away. Discuss options while your hair is dry so that the stylist can see your hair in its natural state.

3. Be receptive to new ideas when talking with your hairstylist. A good stylist can give you sound advice on what might work best for you.

4. Bring along a few pictures of hairstyles that you like. It can help the hairstylist create something flattering that you will like.

5. Be realistic with what the stylist has to work with. For instance, if you have lines and creases on your forehead, you may want to detract from them with feathered bangs or bangs swept to the side. Maybe you have crow’s feet. Conceal them softly fringed sides that frame your face.

6. Flatter your new hairstyle by amping up your make up, standing up straight and make sure that you have a white, bright smile.

So, go for it! Forget about looking for hairstyles for gray hair. Your age has nothing to do with choosing a new hairstyle. Choose something that’s right for you.

Patrick Swayze Mullet Hairstyle

The late, great Patrick Swayze was a legend amongst leading men. Very few movie stars could do a corny romance picture one year, then turn around and put out a cult classic action flick like Road House the next. Swayze’s appeal crossed the gender barrier and, as they say, girls wanted him and guys wanted to be him. How’d he pull it off? Many theorize that it was the Patrick Swayze mullet that did the trick.

Swayze first pioneered this cutting edge variation on the mullet in the Ghost era. Superficially, the mullet is comparable to the Kurt Russel mullet as seen in films like Escape from New York, but in actuality, the two are very different. Russel’s shaggy mullet was only slightly longer in the back than it was in the front, suggesting an attitude that defined the Bad Dude image, but which did him no favors as a lady’s man, and as we all know, the mullet should be used primarily to identify one as a lady’s man.

Swayze’s mullet was much braver, much bolder, and perhaps the finest mullet Hollywood has ever seen.

What made that mullet so special? Well, just LOOK at it. In the front we have the Duck Butt style made famous by Elvis Presley, but in the back, we have a gorgeous mane of blond locks that are both shaggy and well maintained at once.

The trick may have been in the conditioner he used, allowing the hair to be shaggy, but not fluffy, shiny, but not too glossy. More likely, it may be some secret that Swayze took to his grave, a secret not meant to fall into the wrong hands. Certainly, if just ANYONE could achieve that look, the process of natural selection would be thrown entirely out of whack, with any old slob being able to seduce any woman he might desire.

Some of the world’s foremost mullet researchers have tried in vain to recreate this look to perfection only to come out with near-misses and far cries from the real thing.

Our advice? Experiment with different shampoos, tease the front a bit, and if you manage to get the look just right, then please, guard the secret with your life, and remember that with great power comes great responsibility.

1960s Elegant and Graceful Hairstyles

The 1960s offered a very elegant and graceful take on hairstyles for women and men alike. Today you will see that some of the major celebrities take a unique spin on some these incredibly elegant hairstyles for their award shows and more. You too can wear these gorgeous hairstyles for your special occasions whether it is your wedding, prom night or just a night you want to remember as special.

Many of the 1960s hairstyles were in transition from the big hair of the 1950s and headed towards the frizzy and out of control look of the hippie age. Before the onset of the hippie stage which occurs at the end of the 1960s the beehive was incredibly popular look for women. This was a simple and elegant hairstyle which keeps the hair out of the face with front and side sweeps as well as specific flips at the tip of the hair. Flips were incredibly popular and were used in collaboration with many different hairstyles as well as on their own. Whether you had shorter hair or long hair this great flipped look was always a sure thing.

In regards to male hairstyles of this era, the Beatles were becoming popular and therefore the men’s hairstyles and lengths began to grow longer than the average crew cut of former years. The men had longer and straight hair styled much like the Beatles during this time and when the 1960s came closer to an end and the hippie age began their hair get even longer and more out of control!

It is amazing the pain these women and men went through during this time to create their hairstyles for the next day. There were no hand-held hairdryers so they had to sit under monster hairdryers for at least and hour and sleep with rollers in their hair the size of coke cans all night! Many women actually had to sleep sitting up in order to make sure their curlers set properly through the night, can you imagine?

The longer and straighter styles evolved for women near the end of the 1960s as women began to stand up against the different government movements and express their own views and preferences. The shaggy hairstyle was also first introduced in the 1960s and this same hairstyle is still seen quite often today, some styles never change.

Today you will find that many of these 1960s hairstyles are still popular and many times have taken a new and updated spin but the basic hairstyle is still there. The bob hairstyle is very popular for 2008 whether you want to wear it completely straight “sedu” or you want to create a wavy or more textured look, the bob is one look which has never gone out of style and creates a sexy and elegant look every woman can wear gracefully.

What is great about these hairstyles is that they are far easier to create today with the many hairstyle equipment and products to help not only create these looks but make them stay for the entire day. You no longer have to sleep sitting up or endure the pain of the huge rollers in your hair or use a regular clothes iron to straighten your hair every morning. Now you do not have to stick to one hairstyle for months at a time you can mix it up whenever you want thanks to these great products and hairstyling tools. One day you can create yourself a beehive look and the next day you can use the straight as a pin technique and then maybe the shag the next day! Be creative!

Hairstyles For Men

Hairs are most the important aspects of Men’s Fashion, no matter how well you are dressed up, they play a crucial role in camouflaging the shape of your face. There are different hairstyles to look at and I know you are more interested in the one that suits you the most. No human beings have the same facial type, and so there are few things to note when styling your hairs. Identifying the face type lets you to identify the perfect look that suits you the most, and thus subsiding the confusing choices few people have:

Let’s see the different face type’s:

Oval – This is the best face type from all, which supports almost every hairstyle and you could be lucky if you have one. You can make them grow long, short and or mid length. It just looks perfect. This is the shape everyone desires to have.

Square – This type of face is actually broader near the chin and forehead and thus making it more squarish, for this type I would suggest short or mid-length as to minimize the broadness of the forehead and make it look slightly oval. Let the hairs fall on the edges of your forehead and slightly cover your forehead more or less.

Rectangle – This type is similar to the previous with little more height to it. I hope you guys can understand without much confusion. For this type I would recommend long hairs, as it will stick with the length of your face and give a feeling of reduced face length.

Angular – Angular faces have broad cheeks with pointed chin. Mid-length best suits this face anatomy.

Circular – The name itself describes how the face would be like. I strongly recommend a long or mid-length and say BIG NO to short length. As short hairs tend to make your face look more bigger and bubbly. It’s the least desirable type for both genders.

You can keep experimenting with different hairstyles and understand the best that suits you, as there is no harm in experimenting. But remember not to overdo and use common sense. I may have asked to experiment, that doesn’t mean you cut your them so short that it takes month’s to get them back to where they were. Make sure they suit your personality. Remember that a college guy has more options to experiment than that of an employee.

For example: The CEO of some company can’t just give different cuts, like a college student. In such cases you can try to improvise. This post is to assist you in choosing the correct style based on your face type and it’s not a rule. Having a great style can make you feel great. So go and get a nice makeover, as they are the most integral part of fashion. If you are bald than there’s not much that can be done. Proper grooming is essential, as they keep them live longer. Keep Rocking…
